NOTE from Dona Sauerburger:
Commentary is a response to To Cross or Not To Cross, which
I wrote as I was starting to grapple with the problems which the deaths of Dick and Lorraine Evensen had revealed a year earlier.
Since then, I've had an amazing journey of understanding which continues even now, almost 30 years later.
This Commentary refers to "Timing Method for Limited Detection," which is the original term for the "Timing Method for Assessing the Detection of Vehicles" (TMAD).
"Timing Method for Unlimited Detection" (later called "TMASD") is now called "Determining Gaps in Approaching Traffic."
